Aequitas was founded with the goal of promoting and upholding fundamental natural rights as inscribed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. More specifically, Aequitas endeavours to protect, advance and preserve an open and democratic Australian society, whereby civil and political rights are constitutionally enshrined, and government bodies are held to the highest standards of accountability and transparency.

Aequitas strives to be a powerful vehicle of change, by creating a consortium among academics, lawyers, groups, NGO’s, media and the community to establish a platform with the infrastructure and resources required to both educate the public, and focus collective action as a way to effect institutional and Constitutional reform.
